The Cranberry Mountain Nature Center has many interesting features including an exhibit hall, auditorium, events and programs. The Cranberry Glades Botanical Area protects the largest area of bogs in West Virginia. Bogs are acidic wetlands more commonly found in the northern areas of this country and in Canada. The ground in a bog is spongy and consists largely of partially-decayed plant material known as peat. The Botanical Area encompasses 750 acres. The boardwalk for this area is wheelchair accessible.

Largest of all the state parks in West Virginia, Watoga has over 10,000 acres of sprawling woodland filled with a multitude of recreational opportunities.Watoga State Park consists of 10,100 acres filled with a multitude of recreational activities including 40 miles of hiking trails, 11-acre lake, swimming, fishing and boating. Accommodations include cabins and campsites.
