Nelson Rocks Preserve (NRP) is an outdoor recreation area located in the scenic North Fork Valley of Pendleton County, West Virginia. The Preserve is a privately owned and funded organization dedicated to the preservation of Nelson Rocks as a natural, scenic and recreational resource. Public access is currently offered for via ferrata climbing. Thrilling summits and unforgettable views along this 3/4 mile-long, self-belayed climbing adventure. Permanently installed safety system provides accessibility to those without technical rock climbing skills.

Via ferrata climbing is by appointment only, dependent on weather AND staff availability. Scheduling is by telephone and online. Call our Toll Free: 1-800-729-9230 well ahead of your chosen date(s) to ensure availability, and please do not assume you have an appointment until we have spoken to you and confirmed your time. We also reserve the right to postpone or cancel your via climb, in our sole discretion, due to circumstances beyond our control, i.e., weather conditions, staffing issues etc.
